How does the mentor-mentee group matching process work?
Step 1: Filling out the CMFS Mentee Registration Form
Interested mentees sign up and check off which services they need assistance on (e.g. college preparation, resume assistance, career readiness) in addition to stating their general knowledge on the college admission process, general strengths and weaknesses, interested career path, and potential colleges they are interested in (including community college and trade schools).
Step 2: Selecting a day/time to consistently meet with mentor group
Once the mentee has completed the Registration Form, they will select a day of the week and time that fits into their schedule to attend weekly mentoring meetings that will meet via Zoom. The sign-up sheets are organized by grade level and include 2-3 different dates/times that a respective mentor group will meet. The student is able to pick/sign up for the time slot & day of the week that works best with their schedule!
Step 3: Hearing back from your mentor and beginning the program!
Based on the student's high school grade level, mentees will be placed in teams of 4-8 with 1-2 of our mentors. Each mentoring group will be focused on different content based on grade level. This curriculum has been designed to help students with college preparation throughout their high school career, starting with career interest workshops in 9th grade all the way to information on how to pay for college in 12th grade.
After the sign-up process is complete, College Mentors For Success will communicate with you via email with a recurring Zoom meeting link and some info on the first mentoring session/our program.
